Two more useless applications from me…

   Posted by: Mo    in Computers

Hello.

I have been a little less busy and been fixing stuff at home. I had to make these two applications in order for me to fix those stuff:

1) VCFGenerator: If you have ever had a lot of contacts on your phone and you run OS X, and your phone is Sony Ericsson, you will know that it is not as simple as sending all your contacts at the same time to your computer. This will ease the application. Do the following: “Back up” all your contacts to your memory stick, then plug the memory stick into your computer. In one of the folders you will find a file named “WholeContacts.vcf”.

Open my application and feed it this file (of course copy it to your desktop first). Then you shall see that a lot of other files are made (depending on how many contacts you had). Each contact now has its own VCF file, and now you can import it to your AddressBook.

2) M3UGenerator: If you are dual-booting from OS X, then you will know that music is huge problem. Especially if you don’t want to use iTunes in Windows but you use it in OS X. So here: M3UGenerator will take your iTunes’ playlist and will convert it to a proper M3U playlist.

To use this, right-click on one of your playlists in iTunes and then click on export and export it as an XML playlist. Then launch this application and feed it the XML file. Then there you go, you have your M3U playlist. Put it back where you found the original XML playlist.

You can use both applications in all available OSs. They are written in Java with the source files attached.

Hope these were useful. If any problems, please comment below.
